| NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT | |||
| The rehabilitation of the 113kms east-west railway line including eight stations. The project was split into two sections being from Mpaka Station to Mocambique Border (50kms) and from Matsapha Station to Phuzumoya Station (63kms). Topographical survey of the existing rail line was compared to the original design of the horizontal and vertical alignments and adjustments were made for the new design cross-section to fit the existing platform shape with minimum improvements. The design of erosion protection measures was undertaken along the collapsed areas whenever necessary. | |||
